KEEPING GIRLS IN SPORTS THROUGH GOLF

About

Every one in two girls drops out of a sport by the age of 14, and they drop out at twice the rate that boys do. Girls also have 1.3 million less opportunities to play high school sports than boys do.

There are many reasons that girls drop out or don't even participate in sports. Transportation and safety issues, cost, decreased quality of experience over time and not as many role models are just a few. Girls in sports may experience bullying or assumptions about their gender or sexual identity, which can lead to them being driven out of the sport.

Girls active in sports while they are young are 20% less likely to get breast cancer later in life.

Why Golf?

Golf is such an easy way to get outside and be active, and it is also a lifelong sport. Golf also has several mental benefits, and is something you can always get better at!
